How does document anonymisation work?
Automated document anonymisation has three stages: upload, sensitive-data detection and redaction. Unlike manual anonymisation — which can take up to 10 minutes per page — Anonimatum processes each document in 2–5 seconds, with a preview before final changes are applied.

Pseudonymisation: consistent and reversible substitution
Alongside classic anonymisation, Anonimatum includes a pseudonymisation engine that replaces personal data with coherent fictional equivalents instead of removing them. You keep the document’s usefulness and format (dates, amounts, IDs, IBANs) and can reverse the process with an encrypted equivalence map under your control.
Consistent substitution
Realistic fictional names, cities and addresses; the same input always yields the same substitute.
Tokenisation
Unique, reproducible keys (e.g. EMAIL_001) for tracing and analytics without exposing real data.
